The B7-generation S4 quattro was the sportier variant of Audi’s A4 series, which debuted in 2004. This series represented a facelift of the third generation that launched in 2003, although Audi officially classified it as a separate generation. The Audi A4 was a premium mid-size model available in sedan, Avant (wagon), and Cabriolet body styles. During its six-year production cycle, approximately 1.5 million units were built—sedans in Ingolstadt, Avants in Neckarsulm, and Cabriolets in Osnabrück by Karmann. The S4 quattro version was the high-performance derivative of the A4 lineup. It was powered by a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 engine with double overhead camshafts. Combined with Audi’s legendary quattro all-wheel-drive system and, in the case of the displayed model, a manual transmission, the result was an exceptionally engaging driving experience for enthusiasts.
